Living In The Light: A Villa Designed by Ace Design Studio

A Modern and Fashionable Residential Interior

In this case, Ace Design Studio reorganizes the movement of space, transforming the act of entering the home into a ritualistic and anticipatory experience. The passage into the villa is intentionally elongated, enveloping the body in a parcel of light. Guided by the subtle illumination ahead, the eyes are drawn to the hollow second floor, creating a vivid and interesting journey home.

The unique feature of this design lies in its ability to create a sense of expectation and wonder. The "bridge" embellishment adds a touch of playfulness, making the act of entering the villa an engaging and delightful experience.

The materials used in this project include floor paint, cement texture paint, reinforced wood floor, and emulsion paint. These materials work together to create an elegant, inclusive, and free-spirited atmosphere, reflecting the rich life posture of the villa's occupants.

Spanning a total of 500 square meters, this villa features a series of interconnected spaces. The negative layer channel, living room, dining room, two-story multi-functional room, and three-story master bedroom are all bathed in natural sunlight, creating a harmonious and inviting environment.

The second floor multi-purpose area expands the space even further. Overlooking the hallway, it seamlessly connects to the sunny patio. This versatile space can serve as a sports area, a guest room, or a storage space, enhancing the overall functionality and utilization of the villa.

The Living In The Light villa project started in July 2017 and was completed in October 2018 in Chengdu. The design team, consisting of Hui Xie, Qilang Wang, and Mengjiao Hu, dedicated their efforts to creating a space that embraces nature and fosters a sense of inner peace.

This exceptional design has been recognized for its ingenuity and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
